From Couch to Runner
Although I've NEVER been a runner, I woke up one morning and decided that since I'm approaching the big 4-0, I better start trying now if I ever hope to become one. I welcome all of you to follow me along my journey since I might need a few words of encouragement here and there.

Fast Forward 7 Months
One thing after another, including moving to a different state, starting a new job, and pure laziness, I didn't do ANY running for 6 months. I FINALLY started again about 4 weeks ago right after I signed up for the Disney Princess Half Marathon 2011. Only problem is that my husband is commuting ALOT for work so being by myself with 2 little girls and working full-time, I can't actually hit the pavement to train. I now train with my new best friend, the Sole F80. Sorry it's blurry, but I took the pic with my phone in bad lighting.

A Little Intro
By now, those that know me have gotten over the initial shock that I'm doing any physical activity at all. I haven't been in a gym in over 15 years and the last time I ran was over 20 years ago in jr high. I even made up some excuse in high school to get out of running a timed mile.
Last Nov., I decided to walk a Half Marathon since I knew some friends doing it. My impatience led me to start SLOWLY jogging and the rest is history. I trained for 11 weeks, pulled some muscles and had to completely stop for the entire 3 weeks before the Disney Princess Half Marathon. Being the stubborn fool that I am, I did the race anyways and probably ran more than I should have....blame it on adrenaline too, I guess.
I finished in under 3 hours though and had my hubby and girls waiting for me at the finish line.
The sprain/strain got alot worse so I've taken another month off. I'm finally now starting to slowly ease into training again. I've learned my lesson and won't be increasing my mileage so quickly this time.
